CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION IN TRAINING COURSE
SKILL LEVELS
Systematic of ski acrobatics
BEGINNERS Level
- equipment selection
- equipment putting on
- falling and getting up
- well-balanced position
- turns (shifting from one foot to other, leaning on ski heel)
- ski climb (circle, side step, herringbone)
- skate technique
- snow plough
ELEMENTARY Level
- turns with one ski shifting above other
- controlled fall down during skiing
- skiing in the line of hill-slide
- skiing on a slant of hill-slide
- change of skiing direction with foot shifting
- ski lift using (ski tow or T-bar lift)
- parallel turn
- stop turn
ADVANCED Level
- turns with jump
- slide (straight, diagonal)
- skiing in deep snow
- backward skiing
- hops, jumps
- field skiing
CHAMPIONSHIP Level
- compensating turn
- turn with hand slide, arm slide
- four pads turn
- body carving

TRAINING PROGRAM:
1. Lectures:
a. History, organization and infrastructure of skiing in Poland and in the world.
b. Principles of recreational-sport training basing on downhill skiing.
c. Techniques and methods of downhill skiing training (specific of children training)
d. Forming of fitness, development of motoring abilities essential to downhill skiing; between seasons training.
e. Rules and goals of physical recreation training based on downhill training
f. Ski equipment – selection and maintenance; lubricants and rules of applying.
g. Safety and hygiene of downhill skiing training; mountain danger, snow kinds, typical snow injuries and first aid, ski code.
h. Rights and duties of downhill skiing instructor.
i. Planning and organization of training activities in downhill skiing.
j. Ski events characteristic; organization and refereeing in ski competitions and mass recreational events.
k. Organization of trips and crosses.
2. Practical exercises
a. Warm-up meaning and its character according to training subject, games and plays with downhill skis
b. Set of exercises improving motoric skills
c. Specialistic exercises in downhill skiing
d. Techniques and methods on basic level
e. Techniques and methods on intermediate level
f. Techniques and methods on upper level
g. Individual training lead by participants, according to prior prepared conspectus
3. Conditions to graduate:
- Passing after theoretical and practical classes
- Grade after giant slalom skiing, executed during training
- Passing of examination
- Positive grade of training lead
- Positive grade of practical demonstration of ski techniques demonstration and cross skiing elements.
